Have you noticed an uptick in Hate, or is it just me here in Las Vegas?

Today, while driving to the airport to pick up my husband, I was flashed a sign. It appeared to me as an “Okay” sign, a GenerationXer here, so I’m not down with anything new or cool. Not that I ever was even in my youth.

Here’s how it went down. At a red light, I look over when I hear a horn honk yet again and see a younger woman in a VW station wagon aggressively giving me the “Okay” sign. I say aggressively because her face was full-on angered, and she kept making the sign and shaking it towards me. I was honestly taken aback.

She had just pulled onto the road next to me from a parking lot. So I know I didn’t cut her off or anything like that. Which left me believing the hatred was because of something else.

I was driving my husband’s SUV; it’s white with no bumper stickers, vanity plates, or anything to distinguish it from all the others. I was wearing sunglasses and a UNLV T-Shirt. “Go Running Rebels!”

To describe her, I would say she was probably early 30’s, white, reddish-brown hair, and was wearing eyeglasses and a sundress. Her license plate said she was from Oregon.
