I had the same train of thought when I first started researching this crime. I figured it had to be the husband, I mean isn’t that usually the first suspect? From what I could find, it appeared that Richard was killed, vs suicide, from the different reports. So I started to look at who else it could be.

When I found out about Little, I realized it was probably too big of a coincidence for him to be in the area and the family meeting a tragic end at the same time.

My understanding is that they never had enough concrete evidence against Little to charge him. Especially with the bodies having decomposed for so long, all forensics were lost. But I did assume he probably raped Belinda, it might even have been the trigger that got him to take the family?
