Senseless Las Vegas Murder Suspect Finally Arrested — True Crime

If there is anywhere we should feel safe; it should be inside of our own homes. But for this victim, that’s where he was brutally attacked and killed.

On December 19, 2008, neighbors of Richard Cline noticed his door was left open. They went over to check on the 74-year-old man who lived alone. Inside the house, they found Richard’s body sprawled on the living room floor. A bloody towel covered his face.

Police arrived at Richard Cline’s house and found him deceased, and his home ransacked. After turning over tables, and furniture the killer then appeared to have poured transmission fluid, alcohol, dish soap, cleaning products, and cooking oils on the floor.

“The fluid appeared to have been dumped all over the crime scene to destroy any forensic evidence that may have been present,” the police report indicated.

An autopsy showed Richard “had been involved in a violent struggle,” sustaining multiple blunt force injuries, bruises, and cuts. He died from neck compression.

Besides the house having looked to of been tossed by the killer, they found plastic bags filled with frozen meals stacked in a wheelbarrow outside the home.
