You’re not weak for saying “Sorry”
. . . and other lies we believe about life.
I hear it all the time, “don’t apologize it makes you look weak.”
That line stands out to me, because I’m usually quick to say “I’m sorry” if I bump into someone or have something to be sorry about. But really, how can being a polite conscientious person be a sign of weakness? Or even more importantly a bad thing?
I don’t think it does show weakness. Instead I believe it shows kindness, sincerity and that you empathize with others. And what’s wrong with that?
Nice girls don’t get the corner office.
Another lie women are taught to believe, is that you can’t be nice and get ahead. That it’s our / females fault people walk all over us, because we’re “too nice”.
No. It’s never your fault if someone walks all over you, that is a reflection on the type of person they are. And by saying it’s your fault, is just their narcissistic way of blaming their ill actions on someone else.
Which is pretty much what they do. If you’ve ever had a narcissistic person in your life, you know what I mean. Everything is everyone else’s fault.
